Finding Inspiration as a Business Owner
As a business owner, it’s really hard sometimes to feel inspired on a day-to-day basis when you’re grinding away at your business. One of the ways that I do that is by listening to podcasts that I find inspiring whenever I’m driving to my office, heading to an appointment, or walking my dogs. This way, I feel like I’m intaking things that are improving my life and making me a better business owner, and also inspiring me. This is in contrast to the news, which just makes me sad and feel guilty. I mean, I could also talk about the fact that I occasionally love to binge-watch West Wing, but that’s not helping me as a business owner either.
So, I’ve put together a list of my favorite podcasts for business owners in 2024, and these are the five podcasts that I’ll be listening to. I think they will definitely make my day-to-day life more enjoyable, if not make my business better, and hopefully will do the same for you.
1. The Mel Robbins Podcast: Straight Talk for Success
Number one on my list is the Mel Robbins podcast. I love Mel Robbins; she’s extremely dry and funny and talks about somebody who gives it straight to anybody who’s on her podcast. I appreciate her frankness and the fact that she combines topics that are important to business owners but are also important to people in general, relating to relationships and life interactions.
2. The Huberman Lab: Optimizing Body and Mind
Next up is the Huberman Lab, which focuses on biohacking, body consciousness, and optimizing the body’s efficiency. As a business owner, your body is the engine that makes you exist and helps you do what you need to do on a day-to-day basis. The Huberman Lab covers all those health trends you’re hearing about and makes it easy to understand.
3. How to Launch an Industry: Navigating Cannabis and Beyond
Then there’s “How to Launch an Industry,” a podcast I found when looking for podcasts in the cannabis industry. It’s not just about cannabis; it also covers psychedelics and other plant medicine topics. It provides insights not only from the perspective of believing in the plant but also from a business owner’s mindset, discussing industry trends and where we want it to go.
4. The Happiness Lab: Cultivating Joy in Business and Life
“The Happiness Lab” might not seem directly related to business, but if you’re not happy, your business probably won’t succeed. This podcast not only makes you happy just listening to it but also provides fantastic information about human interaction, which is crucial for managing employees and maintaining relationships.
5. The John Maxwell Leadership Podcast: Elevating Your Leadership Skills
Lastly, there’s the John Maxwell Leadership Podcast. I adore John Maxwell; his daily reader is something I engage with every day. This podcast is an excellent tool for improving yourself and adopting an intentional and service-oriented mindset. It’s a must-listen for anyone wanting to become a better leader in business and in life.
Conclusion: Elevate Your Entrepreneurial Journey with Podcasts
Incorporating these podcasts into your routine can provide a daily dose of inspiration and knowledge to fuel your entrepreneurial journey. Whether you’re seeking motivation, practical advice, or insights into industry trends, these podcasts offer valuable resources to support your growth as a business owner. So plug in your headphones, tune in, and let the inspiration flow.
