The fight for the hemp industry in North Carolina is not over.
At the end of the last legislative session, SB 455 passed at the last minute keeping hemp in North Carolina legal. At that time, there were lots of interest groups trying to make sure that hemp became regulated under medical cannabis with the passage of SB 711. While that didn’t happen at the end of the last legislative session, it’s still going on and these groups are still around. Don’t let the passage of SB 455 make you complacent. You need to stay informed. I’m going to include a link below where you can go and use your address to look up your local representative. If you’re in the cannabis business, you need to call your local representative and make sure that they know who you are, what you do, and why. What you do is important for the North Carolina hemp industry.
You need to get involved.
I work with several different organizations whose main goal right now is to make sure that whatever happens with hemp in North Carolina, it does not become regulated under SB 711 or any other cannabis regulatory scheme that would make it like medical or recreational cannabis. North Carolina Hemp needs to stay North Carolina Hemp. If you want know how to get involved, give me a call today and let’s talk about it.
